Proposal at Drees Pavilion | Devou Park

Some proposals are months in the planning, but the best ones? They're the ones where every detail comes together to create pure magic – and that's exactly what happened when Max surprised Morgan with a proposal at Drees Pavilion in Devou Park.

The Secret Plan

When Max reached out to me about photographing his surprise proposal, I knew this was going to be something special. He had thought of everything. Max rented out the beautiful Drees Pavilion overlooking downtown Cincinnati, arranged a romantic picnic complete with champagne, and now he just needed to get Morgan there without raising any suspicion.

The Perfect Setup

Here's where Max's planning really shined. He told Morgan that he had "forgotten" his wallet and needed her to bring it to him before he went golfing. Brilliant, right? But it gets better – Max also coordinated with Morgan's friends to plan a fake girls' outing downtown for lunch. This meant Morgan would be dressed up and photo-ready without having any idea what was about to happen!

As a photographer, I love being part of these secret plans. I arrived early and found my hiding spot, camera ready, waiting for the moment that would change their lives forever.

The Proposal

It was a hot, sunny day – the kind where the light is bright and the Cincinnati skyline sparkles in the background. The setting at Drees Pavilion couldn't have been more perfect, with its iconic gazebo structure and sweeping views of the city below.

When Morgan arrived, completely unsuspecting, Max was waiting under the pavilion with their romantic picnic ready to go. And then it happened – Max got down on one knee and asked Morgan to spend forever with him.

She said YES!

Engagement Photos to Celebrate

After the excitement of the proposal, Max gave me the signal that it was safe to come out of hiding. We spent some time capturing their first moments as an engaged couple, getting some beautiful photos they could share on social media to announce their exciting news to family and friends.

The genuine joy and surprise on Morgan's face, the way Max looked at his new fiancée, the Cincinnati backdrop – it all came together perfectly despite the heat. These two were glowing, and not just from the summer sun!

A Moment They'll Never Forget

Max, you absolutely nailed this proposal. From the clever wallet trick to coordinating with Morgan's friends, every detail showed how much thought and love went into this moment. Morgan, your surprise and happiness were so beautiful to witness and capture.

Thank you both for trusting me to be part of such an intimate, special moment in your love story. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you two!
